What Color is EASTER?
The Christian Church uses white to represent joy and pure celebration! EASTER is the most important feast of the Church year. On Easter Day, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. What are we celebrating?
We celebrate:
What happens during the Great Fifty Days?
During these fifty days, we remember Jesus' appearances to his disciples following his resurrection. We hear the stories of Jesus appearing to doubting Thomas (John 20:19-31), the story of Jesus' appearance by the Sea of Tiberius (John 21:1-14), the story of Jesus, the Good Shepherd (John 10:22-30), the story of Jesus' commandment to love each other (John 13:31-35), Jesus' promise to send the Holy Spirit (John 14:23-29), and Jesus prayer for his disciples (John:17:20-26). We and we look forward to his ascension forty days after Easter and the coming of the Holy Spirit to his followers on the Day of Pentecost.

We celebrate:
- that God's love for us is stronger than anything - even death!
- that LOVE - not death - is ALWAYS God's last word.
- the Jesus has risen from the dead and because of him, we too will rise after our deaths.
- new life coming to us and bringing new promises and possibilities into our lives!
